How It Began?
The Hungry Ladybird's journey started with my lifelong love for delicious, artisan condiments.
Having spent a number of years working professionally with food, I was fascinated by the leading role condiments play in complementing food, and equally the value they bring in introducing that extra bit of flavour. They can really enhance the taste to another level of umami. This experimentation inspired me to make all kinds of homemade relishes, and soon enough, my interest aligned with making natural preserves. In a world where so much food is wasted, it is pretty special to give your produce a new lease of life as well as expanding its shelf life.
After a lot of research, trial, error and tweaking, I crafted a series of recipes to create natural jams that are full of flavour, made with high quality ingredients, reduced sugar and completely free from artificial additives and preservatives.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them.
